Competitions were held on the Swiss system in 9 rounds. On the way to the champion’s title, Bagul – athlete of the coach Serdar Annaberdiyev confidently won her opponents from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka, Albania, Rumania, Mongolia and Peru, having shown hundred-per-cent result – 9 points of 9 possible!

It is the first success in this age group of the representatives of the Turkmen chess school, which masters year by year the higher rating positions on the world sport arena. Numerous “great” victories of our sportsmen in the largest international competitions including Asian and World Championships, Worldwide Olympic Games are vivid evidence of this fact. For example, in the last World Chess Contest taken place with participation of the strongest masters of the planet in autumn of the last year in Istanbul (Turkey), our compatriot – the thirteen-year-old Saparmyrat Atabayev won the gold medal in the age group under 19 years old. And now, the sport attainments of Turkmenistan has been replenished with another award of the highest standard gained by the twice champion of the country among juniors under 8 years old and current champion of the country in the age group under 10 years old.

World Chess Championship in Greece, which was held under the aegis of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and International School Chess Federation (ISCU), became the first international competition for Bagul Ezizova. This convincing victory heralds the great sport future for her.

Besides gold medal and triumphal Cup, young Turkmen athlete was awarded with the title of candidate for master of sports of FIDE on behalf of the International Chess Federation. Relevant certificate was handed to Bagul at the awarding ceremony of the winners and prize winners of the World Championship.

It is worth mentioning that attainments of young chess player in the contests of the national level strike as well: in her six Bagul is already twice champion of the country among juniors under 8 years old current champion of the country in the age group under 10 years old. So, it is possible to state with confidence that her major victories are ahead!

Victory in the current World Championship automatically ranked Bagul Ezizova among participants of such tournament in next year, where in opinion of specialists, she will be able to defend her champion’s title.

At present, the talented chess player prepares for regular large international competition – the Asian Championship among juniors to be held from June 19 to 27 in the Iranian city – Sari. We will be a fan of young talent of Turkmenistan and wish Bagul new victories.

First of all, Her Excellency Aksoltan Atayeva, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations congratulated the players who attend the tournament with the Health and Happiness Week of Turkmenistan and expressed her gratitude for the participation. H.E. Atayeva also extended Ambassador Meret Orazov’s greetings and congratulations to the people who came to the mini football tournament. She explained importance of the tournament and wished success to all teams.

Then, teams Galkan and Galkynysh played while Tug and Dostluk were playing with each other. Galkynysh won Galkan with 2:0; on the other hand, Tug won the Dostluk with 3:1 in the first part of the tournament. In the second part, Tug won the Galkynysh with 1:0, and Galkan won Dostluk as 3:1. In brief, Tug acquired the 1^st, Galkynysh the 2^nd, Galkan the 3^rd, and Dostluk the 4^th places in the mini football tournament.

Certificates and gifts were given to the teams on behalf of the Government of Turkmenistan by H.E. Aksoltan Atayeva. They all were taken photo at the end of the tournament. The tournament was very exciting and a lot of fun for those who attended to see the games.

Turkmen leader emphasized the dedication and high labor skills of citizens and also he noted that our Motherland become economically powerful state with a unique culture taking its rightful place among the developing countries of the world in harmony.

President summed up the results of work done in the country. According to the greeting letter was noted that we were able to mark the outgoing 2012 large labor progress.

Within the framework of the meeting the Turkmen leader and his guest exchanged their views on the prospects and the ways to intensify the long-term traditional partnership in the fuel and energy sector, trading and economic sphere, chemical industry, transport, agriculture, water industry and other important areas. Particular attention was paid to the opportunities of using the experience of leading Japanese companies, steady enhance of cooperation in the sphere of education, in particular training of high-qualified specialists as well as exchange of experience in the sphere of nanotechnologies and creation of highly remunerative production.

Expressing deep gratitude for the trust, the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Committee for economic cooperation reaffirmed the interest of the business circles of Japan and in particular the ITOCHU Corporation in strengthening positions at the prospective Turkmen market and implementing new joint projects.

In conclusion of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest expressed belief in further intensification of the interstate cooperation that satisfies the state priorities and interests of the two friendly peoples.

In their reports the meeting participants noted that this year was rich in election campaigns. As is known, the presidential elections took place in the country on February 12, 2012 and elections to Gengesh and members of the national parliament in two constituencies were held on August 20, 2012.

The election of the President of Turkmenistan was held on February 12, 2012 in a free and democratic atmosphere in compliance with the current election law of Turkmenistan and international law. 96.7 percent of voters cast their votes. That vividly testifies to the high civil activity of the Turkmen citizens. The elections to Gengesh and members of the national parliament in two constituencies took place in all regions of the country in an atmosphere of openness, transparency and on a wide alternative basis. 90 percent of voters took part in the elections of Gengesh members and national parliamentarians.

The meeting participants approved the 2012 report and discussed the plan of events for 2013. Other organizational issues were discussed during the meeting.

The general census of the population and housing has come to end in Turkmenistan. According to the decree signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the census was conducted in the period from 15 to 26 December this year.

As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat referring to the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, all counting and instructor stations as well as census departments closed at 21.00 (local time) on December 26, because the questionnaire survey of the population was completed before the deadline.

At the next stage of the census, the documents will be verified for accuracy, accepted and delivered to Ashgabat for processing at the main computer center. Checking and delivering of documents to the capital’s main computer center will take about a month.

According to the experts from the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, the preliminary results of the 2012 general census of the population will be announced in July 2013, and the final results will be made public at the beginning of 2014.

In accordance with the international practice, following the completion of the general census of the population and housing, Turkmenistan will conduct a selective survey of 5 percent of households to verify the completeness and correctness of counting of the population in the census. This work will be carried out from 27 December 2012 to 5 January 2013.

Within the framework of negotiations, it was also discussed the issues related to the implementation of Millennium Development Goals and holding of national consultations on preparation of proposals for Goals of sustainable development for period after 2015. Interested view exchange was also held in other priority aspects of successfully developing bilateral cooperation.

The Foundation will also serve to expand international cooperation and scientific links with similar international funds that support the scientific work of the youth. Management of the Fund rests with the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

The work of the Foundation of the President of Turkmenistan to support young scientists will create new possibilities for rich creative scientific potential of young people and will contribute to the national economy of highly qualified personnel.

Today the development of new areas such as information history, cliometrics, applied mathematics, biology, and other information, the use in research of nano-and information technologies play a major role for young scientists. In this regard stimulates active participation and students in actual research, is organizing the preparation and release of the special non-fiction and educational literature, including in electronic form.

Turkmenistan is making huge investments to support research projects of innovative development of information and communication technologies. This is evidenced by the creation of the National Space Agency which will provide an opportunity to bring a new level of national science. In the future the country plans to launch communications satellite that will modernize the system for mobile communications, the Internet satellite television and other objects of communications. Involving young people in science includes popularization of scientific knowledge in youth media, cooperation of universities and research institutions, competitions papers, national and international forums.

For example, the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan plans in April next year for an international conference of young scientists. Forum will be held on the following themes: young scientists and innovative development, and cooperation of young scholars in the humanities in the cultural dialogue of civilizations, in the exact and natural sciences as the main engine of technological progress will address the role and value of art, language and traditions in shaping the spiritual and philosophical values in young people, as well as the issues related to improving the methods and forms of training young highly qualified scientific personnel in science and technology.
