Background

Turkmenistan has opened official diplomatic relations with the United States in May of 1994. Now, the embassy has a permanent consulate on the Embassy Row in Washington, DC.

The Embassy in Washington, DC and the diplomats assigned to the embassy are also responsible for diplomatic relations with Canada and Mexico. All correspondence regarding the US, Canada and Mexico should be directed to the Embassy in Washington, DC.
